Thankfully, the Necromancer's not too picky with his equipment. So in order to prepare one's Necromancer for the worst, some fitting Runewords are in order. Diablo and his brothers will still lay waste to anyone foolhardy enough to come at them unprepared.

That doesn't mean players can slack off in their Necromancer builds in Diablo 2.
